TypeFull TimeDescriptionGENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Chemistry Lab
Technician I is responsible for support to the Chemist and Lab
Departments, to ensure all testing is performed in accordance with
Company written Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and the
execution of multiple projects dealing with chemistry laboratory.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIESTo perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

not limited, to:Performing laboratory analysis on finished product
and raw material such as physical testing & wet chemistry
methods.Performing inventory of laboratory supplies; orders
laboratory supplies as needed.Inspecting/Calibrating equipment used
in the lab (scales, autoclave, thermometers, refractometers,
refrigerators, incubators, Stability chambers).Making limited
interpretations of data generated, and communicating the
significance of these experimental results to the
supervisor.Completing variety of tasks to ensure the smooth overall
function of the laboratory, including reagent and sample
preparation, simple equipment maintenance, lab inventory and
maintenance of proper records in compliance with SOP's and
applicable regulatory requirements.Performing other job duties,
assignments and tasks as directed by Laboratory
Supervisor.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed

and/or abilities required for the job:Proficient use of the English
language (verbal and written);Proficient math skills (addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measures,
using whole numbers common fractions and decimals);Effective
planning and organizing skills.Ability to handle multiple
task/duties.Knowledge and understanding of quality in a
manufacturing environment, as well as laboratory controls and work
safety rules/regulations.Excellent written and oral communications
skills and techniques.Ability to read and comprehend simple
instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write
simple correspondence.Ability to present information in one-on-one
and small group situations with customers, management and other
employees of the organization.Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral
instructions.Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw
and interpret bar graphs.Ability to deal with problem solving
involving concrete variables situations.Ability to maintain a
high-level of confidential information in the performance of job
duties.Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative
demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management
and employees.Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and

late and/or during weekends; if needed.SELECTION GUIDELINESThe
appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this
position are achievable through the following combination of
education, work experience and training:High School Diploma or
equivalent GED Certificate; andBA/BS in Chemistry or related
experience in the regulated industry; plusKnowledge of scientific
concepts, theory, research procedures, and analytical
techniques.Experience working in manufacturing and/or laboratory
environment.Any Combination of experience, education, and training
that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed
to successfully perform the job.Knowledge and understanding of
quality in the manufacturing environment, as well as laboratory
controls and safety.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONSThe
essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the
following physical activities during the course of work. Reasonable

requirements include close and distance vision, color vision,

needed.Requires incumbent to sit and operate computer for extended
periods of time during course of work day, and the ability to
proficiently use the computer key-board for typing.Noise level for
this work environment is typically low to moderate.Periods of
