team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN
digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product
engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering
behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.As a
member on the Web Commerce team, you'll build the core sign-up,
purchase, and subscription management experiences of our Web
platform.You will serve as a high level technical resource and
"go-to" person, solving sophisticated technical challenges and
finding opportunities to improve systems, products, and
services!Responsibilities
- Collaborates closely with product and project management to
translate requirements into technical specifications and timelines
while partnering with other engineering teams to deliver
solutions.
- Write and maintain code quality through test driven
development.
- Contribute to code reviews, documentation, knowledge-sharing,
and technical investigations.
- Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to building new
features.
- Partner with UX to transform mock-ups into engaging, accessible
web experiences.Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience building highly scalable and performant
modern Javascript/Typescript web applications.
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent work
experience
- Writes well-documented, clear, and robust code.
- Solid understanding of web technologies and the browser
environment.
- Previous experience integrating api specifications while
collaborating with service teams.
- Excellent front-end debugging skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Preferred
Qualifications:
- Shipped production level React/Node.js application with
deployed to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS).
- Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals.
- Experience working in Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge to web standards and new technologies.
The hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA and in New York,
NY is $120,300 to $161,300 per year, the hiring range for this
position in Santa Monica, CA is $114,900 to $154,100, and the
hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $125,800 to
$168,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into
account internal equity and also may vary depending on the
candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and
experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive
units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in
addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other
benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
