Job Summary:
Develop, maintain, and grow long-term customer relationships. The Sales Representative is responsible for the achievement of budgeted EPU, Auxiliary powered units, and TRU sales, market share ownership and contribution profit through business development of current and new customers. Promote the entirety of MCT Companies product lines including but not limited unit sales, parts, service, and contract services across the greater Bakersfield area. This position may require overnight travel.
Any sales experience in the trucking-transportation or refrigeration Industry will be helpful.
Essential Job Functions:
Identifies prospective customers and maintain and grow sales with existing customers.
Performs face-to-face sales calls with customers and prospects on a frequent basis.
Cultivate superior product knowledge and expertise by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications and attending tradeshows.
Develops rate proposals and presents to prospects.
Identifies trends and competition in markets and advocates action to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
Provides a positive customer service perception and reinforces a "Value Added" proposition to our customers.
Ensures strong customer retention levels through effective execution of sales and marketing plans, delivering service excellence, and ensuring prompt and effective service recovery.
Maintains and updates customer files in our Salesforce system including notes on all customer interaction.
Ensures all necessary contract paperwork is complete and submitted timely.
Enhances sales department and organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Assist with events and marketing as needed for the new business lines, and future business lines as requested or needed
Visibility on-site and rolling promotion of the MCT Companies name
Develop and implement action plans to increase sales and profitability.
Submit call reports/progress weekly to Sales Manager
Other duties as assigned by management
Communicate with Sales Manager to establish necessary and acceptable margins to earn business
Submit expense reports in a timely manner for reimbursement.
Attend and actively participate in Sales meetings to review performance, opportunities, and challenges.
Seek out, at minimum, one new customer per week and provide a detailed call report including company name, contact, description of business, and plan of action.
Process customer orders through the computer system and complete orders by pulling and delivering or shipping goods.
Job Requirements:
Must have 1+ years of experience with sales in trucking and have APU, EPU, and TRU knowledge
Associates degree preferred
Excellent customer service
Positive and professional demeanor and a demonstrated commitment to MCT Companies Core Values
Ability to break down complicated industry topics into understandable advice meant for customer understanding
Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred, but not required)
Ability to multitask and work in high-stress settings
Self-motivated and can work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexible hours on your schedule to include overnight stays as needed
Ability to build rapport with clients
Utilizes critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities, and exercise good judgment when completing tasks in an efficient, accurate, and productive manner.
Attendance and punctuality are essential job functions. Understand the typical format of company schedules in order to manage time efficient
